EUMETSAT participates in a vast range of activities in the international arena in the pursuit of its strategy. EUMETSAT is part of the European Meteorological Infrastructure (EMI), is active in the arena of international cooperation and also serves as the Secretariat of the Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites (CGMS).

Overview
EUMETSAT participates in a large range of activities in the international arena in the pursuit of its strategy.
European Meteorological Infrastructure (EMI)
As part of the European Meteorological Infrastructure (EMI), EUMETSAT responds to the evolving needs of the National Meteorological Services (NMS) of our Member States and Cooperating States.
European Partners
EUMETSAT's principle European partners are the European Commission (EC) and the European Space Agency (ESA). For information about the nature of these partnerships follow the links below to the relevant organisation.
World Meteorological Organization
The WMO is the specialised agency of the United Nations for meteorology (weather and climate), operational hydrology and related geophysical sciences, with over 180 Member States and Territories.
International Partners
In addition to the key partners, EUMETSAT has formal cooperation agreements with a number of international organisations and agencies.
Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites (CGMS)
CGMS provides an international forum for the exchange of technical information on geostationary and polar orbiting meteorological satellite systems.
Africa
EUMETSAT provides comprehensive support to developing countries, in particular Africa.
GEO, CEOS and GCOS
EUMETSAT also interacts with and supports other international organisations such as GEO, CEOS and GCOS.
Eastern European, Caucasus and Balkan countries
EUMETSAT is committed to support National Meteorological Services in World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Regional Association VI (Europe) countries

European scientific/technical workshop with SOA/NSOAS at EUMETSAT

Following the signature of the cooperation agreement with the Chinese State Oceanic Administration (SOA) and its National Satellite Ocean Application Service (NSOAS) on 30 August 2012, a workshop is being held at EUMETSAT on 18-21 June 2013 with the objective of further strengthening scientific and technical cooperation in the domain of satellite oceanography.

EUMETSAT information day in Baku, Azerbaijan

EUMETSAT and the Azeri Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources’ Hydro-meteorological Department organised an information day for National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) of Eastern European, Caucasus and Central Asian countries on 5 June 2013 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
