The AFG gives recommendations to Council on all administrative and financial aspects of EUMETSAT, including budgets, audits, procurements and contracts, personnel and legal matters.

The AFG members are representatives of interested national delegations to the Council (one per Member State.) which may be assisted by advisers. The AFG may also invite specialists for certain areas of its mandate. Composition and meetings of the group follow the same definitions as those explained for the STG above.
