EUMETSAT serves the interests of its Member and Cooperating States. The two main organs of the organisation are the
Council, which is the decision making body composed of delegates from each Member State and the
Director-General who is the legal representative of EUMETSAT. The Director-General, supported by the secretariat through the management board, is responsible for the definition of the overall strategy as well as the day-to-running of the organisation.
The Council itself is supported by several subsidiary delegate bodies, including the
Policy Advisory Committee (PAC), the
Scientific and Technical Group (STG), the
Administrative and Finance Group (AFG) and the
Data Policy Group (DPG). These bodies also meet two or three times a year, preparing the decisions of the full Council.
