To complement the satellite data and products generated by the EUMETSAT Application Ground Segment, EUMETSAT relays a range of third-party products from partner organisations, including:

• National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
• China Meteorological Administration (CMA).
• Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).
• Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

These data are available via EUMETCast and a sub-set through Direct Dissemination, via the Meteosat satellites.

Within the scope of the Initial Joint Polar-Orbiting Operational Satellite System (IJPS) EUMETSAT generates and disseminates polar orbiting data and products from the NOAA satellite series.

Forecasts and Model Data

EUMETSAT provides a selection of bespoke services designed to support environmental monitoring, as well as operational forecasting activities. External data providers, including major meteorological centres, are responsible for the content of these services. The content, typically, includes meteorological observations and forecast data. This service is for the exclusive use of National Meteorological Services.

Environmental Products

These products which support specific-user applications, e.g. deforestation in Africa, or fire monitoring in Europe, are a result of the many cooperation agreements EUMETSAT has in place with partner organisations. In many instances they directly support European and international projects and initiatives. Some examples include the European Union FP 7 DevCoCast and AMESD projects, and GEONETCast Societal Benefit Areas.

New data providers wishing to distribute products via EUMETCast, or users wishing to receive new products on EUMETCast, can express their interest by completing a GEONETCast Feedback Form (PDF, 74.3 KB).
