Monitoring weather and climate from space

The EUMETSAT Image Gallery provides access to a selection of near-real-time imagery from Meteosat-9 and Meteosat-7 — in geostationary orbits above 0 degrees and 57 degrees longitude — and from Metop, which orbits the Earth around 14 times a day.

Special case studies are selected and published regularly in the Case Studies Gallery. These cover a variety of interesting and educational studies of special events, including hurricanes, dust storms, solar eclipses, volcano eruptions and severe convection. You can search for specific topics on specific topics, different satellites, particular regions of the world, and a range of satellite products.

Real-time Imagery, Case Studies and Topical Images
Real-time imagery
Near real-time imagery is available as direct observations or as derived products from the spectral channels of Meteosat-9 (0 degrees), Meteosat-7 over the Indian Ocean and from the AVHRR instrument on board the polar-orbiting Metop satellite.
Case Studies
At regular intervals, EUMETSAT selects a satellite image/product that demonstrates interesting phenomena or weather situations in various regions of the world, showing the vast range of applications of satellite data.
Topical Images
EUMETSAT produces, and archives, interesting Meteosat and Metop images of various extreme weather and environmental phenomena such as hurricanes, blizzards, dust storms, floods and volcano eruptions.
