German Transport Ministry visit to EUMETSAT
Senior officials from the German Federal Ministry of Transport visited EUMETSAT headquarters in Darmstadt on 25 May 2010.
The German delegation was led by Gerold Reichle, Director General for Civil Aviation and Aerospace in the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development and included Karl Trauernicht, responsible for meteorology in the ministry, and Dr. Hans-Joachim Koppert of the Deutscher Wetterdienst, the German weather service. They were welcomed by Dr. Lars Prahm, Director-General of EUMETSAT. German and EUMETSAT officials discussed future EUMETSAT programmes, space policy and Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES). The German delegation also visited the EUMETSAT control centre.
