EUMETSAT scientists demonstrate derivation of important climate variable

A team of EUMETSAT scientists led by Dr. Yves Govaerts have worked in collaboration with the EU Joint Research Centre to demonstrate that the surface albedo can be derived in a consistent manner from different geostationary satellites located at regular intervals around the Equator.

The Russian State commission has given authorisation to fill the launcher, and the status of MetOp is "Green".
