File naming change of BUFR-formatted EPS global products

We are pleased to announce the implementation of WMO file naming for all the EPS global products formatted in BUFR and disseminated on EUMETCast, to take place on 8 February 2012.

Below is the list of all EPS products concerned:

  • AMSU-A GDS Level 1, Metop and NOAA
  • ASCAT GDS L1 Sigma-0 at 12.5km and 25 km swath grid
  • ASCAT soil moisture at 12.5 km and 25 km swath grid
  • ATOVS sounding products, Metop and NOAA
  • Polar winds
  • GRAS GDS Level 1b
  • HIRS GDS Level 1, Metop and NOAA
  • IASI GDS Level 1C
  • IASI principal component scores
  • IASI Atmospheric Temperature Water Vapour and Surface Skin Temperature
  • IASI Cloud Parameters
  • IASI Ozone
  • IASI Surface emissivity
  • IASI Trace gases
  • MHS GDS Level 1, Metop and NOAA

 

In preparation for this file naming change, we have made test data available on our FTP server at the following link:

You will find a sample of each EPS BUFR file on EUMETCast with its old and new name.
