The purpose of the OSS is to specify the operational services that EUMETSAT delivers to its user community.

The following Operational Service Groups are provided by EUMETSAT and are detailed in this document:

• Metop/NOAA Regional Data Services;
• Direct Readout Services;
• Ocean Surface Topography Mission;
• Data Collection Services;
• Search and Rescue Services;
• Satellite Application Facility Services;
• Third Party Data Services;
• Third Party Data Distribution.

In addition to the current operational services, the document also covers the services that are planned to be classed as operational within the near future.
