MSG image data reprocessing campaign kicks off

EUMETSAT has commenced the reprocessing of MSG SEVIRI Level 1.5 Image Data. Meteosat-8 data are currently being reprocessed and Meteosat-9 data will follow in due course.

Rainfall Estimate for Africa (TAMSAT) file type and size changes

As of the 11 March 2011, the Rainfall Estimate for Africa (TAMSAT) product data will undergo changes to the file type and size.

Following an agreement between EUMETSAT and CNES, we are pleased to announce the availability of AVISO altimetric products on EUMETCast. These products are available to all EUMETCast users. CNES licensing terms and conditions apply.

The Regional Instability Index (RII) product will undergo a number of phased updates over the coming weeks, including a switch over to the Rapid Scan Services, and changes to the file frequency and extended geographical coverage.

New CAP Formatted Products

On 24 March 2011 EUMETSAT will introduce a new Volcanic Ash product, as well as a new product format: the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) for the Active Fire Monitoring product.

An upgraded Operational Service Status Indicator (OSSI) was released on 9 February 2011, enabling users to gain a detailed view of the availability and timeliness of the near-real time operational services on EUMETCast.
