Meteosat-10 SEVIRI decontamination from 8–14 December

A decontamination of the SEVIRI instrument on board Meteosat-10 will be carried out from from 8–14 December.

During this period, Meteosat-8 image data (rectified to 0 deg) and meteorological products will be provided in place of those from Meteosat-10.

Detailed schedule:

  • Tuesday 08/12/15 at 08:00 UTC — Meteosat-10 dissemination stops and Meteosat-8 Full Earth Scan dissemination starts.
  • Tuesday 08/12/15 at 09:30 UTC — Meteosat-10 decontamination starts.
  • Monday 14/12/15 at 15:00 UTC — Meteosat-8 Full Earth Scan dissemination stops and Meteosat-10 dissemination resumes.

An outage of up to two repeat cycles can be expected when switching to and from Meteosat-8.

The files will be labelled MSG1, for example:

H-000-MSG1__-MSG1________-HRV______-000020___-201510141045-C_

The assignment of Bulletin Headers for the Meteosat Meteorological Product Dissemination is detailed in the table below.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The same bulletin headers are presently used for MSG-4.

(*) Meteosat products are divided in three regions: Northern, Tropics (+/- 23.4° Lat) and Southern.

During the decontamination, direct dissemination via Meteosat-10 will still be available and the data disseminated will be from Meteosat-8 during the times specified above. Users will not need to re-point their LRIT antenna.
