There was a North-South divide in the cloudiness of Europe at the beginning of autumn
22 October 2020
24 October 2013
The first month of the autumn calendar was sunny in southern Europe with the monthly mean cloudiness not exceeding 50%. However the rest of Europe has experienced the onset of autumn and therefore more cloudiness. This is related to the increase of low-level clouds and cyclonic activity, with the mean cloudiness reaching 60-80%, and even above 90% in the north-west part/North Atlantic.
