Tropical Cyclone Haruna developed in the northern Mozambique Channel and had a clearly visible, large eye.

Haruna had wind speeds of around 111 km/h (70 mph) as it headed towards Madagascar and was a Category Two cyclone when it hit the island.

More than 17,000 people were reported to have been affected by the storm, with a number of deaths, and about 1,500 houses were destroyed or flooded.
