Enhanced OSI SAF SST and Radiative Flux products to be available soon
Enhanced Sea Surface Temperature and Radiative Flux products from OSI SAF will be available on EUMETCast in January 2020.

The OSI SAF has implemented a new chain to process data from the new generation geostationary satellites (GOES and in the future MTG). This new processing chain brings the following enhancements:
- Use of the full spatial resolution input data from GOES-East (GOES-16) to generate SST and radiative flux products
- Implementation of an improved SST methodology, in particular the bias correction parameterization, for MSG 0°, MSG IODC and GOES-East.
The format, size and file naming of the products are not affected.
The enhanced SST and Radiative Flux products will be distributed on EUMETCast from 19 January 2021.
The products are listed below:
New GOES-East products (the new products will supersede the current ones on 19 January 2021)
OSI-206-a Meteosat Sea Surface Temperature
OSI-303-a Meteosat Downward Longwave Irradiance
OSI-304-a Meteosat Surface Solar Irradiance
Users wanting to get sample files of the enhanced products can already access them via the OSI SAF FTP server (hosted by Ifremer):
Updated product documentation
Users already subscribed to OSI SAF products via EUMETCast will receive the enhanced products automatically. Other users wishing to receive these products should register via our Earth Observation Portal (EOP).
