High-level cirrus clouds (white colour) mark a pronounced polar jet stream over the South Atlantic.

The case is a classic example for the cycloid shape of an unperturbed jet stream. Also visible are numerous transverse cirrus bands, which is a satellite signature of potential turbulence.
