- IASI-A is a very stable instrument. However a reprocessing of the products EXT has been conducted in order to take into account two major changes:
- Evolution of the algorithms and product-format implemented in May 2010 to include:
Detailed flags on the IASI on-board processing
Cloud and land/sea information in the IASI L1c products
- Slight improvement of the spectral harmonization implemented in February 2011.

- Since its launch on 19 October 2006, the Local Solar Time (LST) of the equator crossing of the Metop-A orbit is 09:30 (descending node) and 21:30 (ascending node). From mid-2017 on, because the on-board fuel is low, the orbit is not maintained and is, thus, drifting.

- EPS Product Quality Monitoring Reports
- The NWP-SAF performs a near-real-time monitoring of satellite data used in operational NWP including in particular the IASI L1C products
- The Global Space-based Inter-Calibration System (GSICS) also monitors the bias between SEVIRI and IASI
