Due to the contract with the previous provider of the EUMETCast Europe uplink service ending at the end of last year, the handover to the new provider took place on 15 December 2022. However, due to a number of users who reported some reception issues for Basic Service and High Volume Service-1 provided via transponder C4 on EUTELSAT 10A (E10A-C4), the handover of E10A-C4 was rolled back on 19 December.

Changes have been made to the Transport Stream (which was the cause of the reported issues following the EUMETCast Europe uplink service handover). The results of the trial and feedback received from users are positive.

Therefore, a new handover to the new EUMETCast Europe uplink service provider is planned on 14 February 2023 between 10:00 and 11:00 UTC, with a maintenance and risk period on that day from 09:00 to 14:00 UTC, during which short interruptions to the service are to be expected.

Following the handover, the uplink to the transponder C4 on EUTELSAT 10A (E10A-C4), through which EUMETCast Europe is currently operated (for the Basic Service and High Volume Service 1), will be done from one of the new uplink sites (Fucino or Lario, in Italy).

There are no changes required on user side. It is, however, recommended that users check their reception after the handover.
