This release is an update to the EPS-SG 3MI L1B and L1C test dataset (V1) released to users in 2020.

The EPS-SG Multi-viewing Multi-channel Multi-polarisation Imager (3MI) is a passive optical radiometer dedicated primarily to aerosol characterisation for applications in climate monitoring, atmospheric chemistry, and Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP).

L1B test data description

The 3MI L1B test data is available here:

https://sftp.eumetsat.int/public/folder/UsCVknVOOkSyCdgpMimJNQ/User-Materials/Test-Data/EPS-SG/EPSSG-TestDataPackage_V2/3MI/EPSSG_3MI_L1B_TestDataV2.tar.gz

The L1B test data set is generated from L1B1 data using the L1B Ground Processor Prototype V3.2 (GPP V3.2), which has been developed within a cooperation between EUMETSAT and CNES. The data up to L1B1 were generated using the v2.1.5b IDS/GPP from ESA

The content and format of these products is in line with the specifications in the following documents, released together with this package.

The Readme file gives more details on the data package.

L1C test data description

The 3MI L1C test data is available here:

https://sftp.eumetsat.int/public/folder/UsCVknVOOkSyCdgpMimJNQ/User-Materials/Test-Data/EPS-SG/EPSSG-TestDataPackage_V2/3MI/EPSSG_3MI_L1C_TestDataV2.tar.gz

This test data package has been generated with the EUMETSAT 3MI L1C in-house prototype, and provides regularly gridded multi-angle, multi-channel Stokes vector radiances and co-located cloud information.

More details on the content of these products and their format specification are described in the following documents, released together with this package.

The Readme file gives more details on the data package.

Note: all old versions are obsolete for format familiarisation purposes.

These test data are only intended for format familiarisation and system testing.
