A number of black smoke plumes could be seen drifting eastwards towards Iran. The first plume started at about 5:00 UTC, the second, smaller plume further south at around 6:45 UTC. Several smaller black smoke plumes could be seen over eastern Syria, starting in the Euphrates valley, and drifting into western Iraq.
