OSI SAF HY-2B and HY-2C wind products on EUMETCast soon

The products are:

• HY-2B 25 km wind vectors (OSI-114-a)
• HY-2B 50 km wind vectors (OSI-114-b)
• HY-2C 25 km wind vectors (OSI-115-a)
• HY-2C 50 km wind vectors (OSI-115-b)

The HY-2B and HY-2C satellites were launched by the Chinese National Satellite Ocean Application Service (NSOAS). NSOAS kindly provides the near-real time scatterometer data which are used as input for the generation of these OSI SAF wind products.

The products will be available in BUFR format on EUMETCast, as follows:

Channel: A1C-SAF-1

PID: 100

EUMETCast Terrestrial

The products are already available now, in BUFR and netCDF formats, on the KNMI FTP server in the following directories:

/scat/hy2b (HY-2B BUFR)

/scat/hy2c (HY-2C BUFR)

/scat/netCDF/hy2b (HY-2B netCDF)

/scat/netCDF/hy2c (HY-2C netCDF)

If you do not have access to the KNMI FTP server, please email KNMI for credentials.

Users already subscribed to receive OSI SAF products via EUMETCast will receive these new products automatically. Other users wishing to receive OSI SAF products should register via our Earth Observation Portal (EOP).
