Public release of NOAA-20 EARS regional data
EARS-ATMS, EARS-CrIS and EARS-VIIRS data from the NOAA-20 satellite will be available on EUMETCast from 9 April 2019.
26 January 2021
28 March 2019
The EARS-ATMS (ATMS Regional Data Service — Multimission), EARS-CrIS (CrIS Regional Data Service — Multimission) and EARS-VIIRS (VIIRS Regional Data Service — Multimission) regional services, initially based on Suomi-NPP data, have been extended to include NOAA-20 data.
From 9 April, these new data will be publicly available on EUMETCast.
The products are generated at the following EARS stations: Athens, Svalbard, Maspalomas, Kangerlussuaq and Lannion.
For more information, see the EARS-ATMS page.
For more information, see the EARS-CrIS page.
Both EARS-ATMS and EARS-CrIS NOAA-20 data will be distributed on EUMETCast Europe, Basic Service, on the same channel as the S-NPP data:
Multicast address: 18.104.22.168
For more information, see the EARS-VIIRS page.
The EARS-VIIRS NOAA-20 data will be distributed on EUMETCast Europe, Basic Service, using the NPP-2 channel, the same as EARS-ATMS and EARS-CrIS data. However, from 9 April, the EARS-VIIRS data from Suomi-NPP which are currently distributed on the NPP-2 channel, will be transferred to the High Volume Service, Transponder 1 (HVS-1), Channel E1H-RDS-1 (PID: 601, Multicast address: 22.214.171.124:7017). To be able to continue receiving EARS-VIIRS Suomi-NPP data, users need to ensure that they have a working EUMETCast High Volume Service reception.
Users already subscribed to any of these EARS services will receive the corresponding NOAA-20 data automatically. Other users wishing to receive these data should register via our Earth Observation Portal (EOP).
