On 3–4 June the Puyehuè-Cordón Caulle Volcanic Complex (PCCVC) erupted after two decades of dormancy.

The plume was initially driven south-eastwards, but was picked up by upper-level westerlies on 4 June. Ash contributes reddish and SO2 greenish hues to the RGB, resulting in the yellow colouring.
