Release of simulated EPS-SG IASI-NG Level 2 test data

EUMETSAT Polar System-Second Generation (EPS-SG) simulated Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer - New Generation (IASI-NG) Level 2 test data are now available for user familiarisation (1 April 2021).

The EPS-SG IASI-NG is a passive infrared sounder which has the capability to measure the temperature and water vapour profiles of the Earth’s atmosphere. It has a direct heritage from the IASI instrument on board EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS) satellites.
Test data description
The EPS-SG IASI-NG L2 test data, in netCDF format, are available via our ftp site:
https://sftp.eumetsat.int/public/folder/UsCVknVOOkSyCdgpMimJNQ/User-Materials/Test-Data/EPS-SG/IASI-NG/IASING_L2/
They were generated by the prototype processor IASI-NG-L2-IPP using IASI-NG L1D and L1C products, and MWS L1B product as input. This test data distribution includes the data in netCDF format and the Product Format Specification document (PFS V3D). The PFS gives an overview of all the L2 products, detailed format description including meta data description and the size of the data per orbit.
All EPS-SG product types generated by the EPS-SG Ground Segment are netCDF-4 files complying with the generic structure and data model set out in the (GPFS V3D), which is also made available with this release.
These data are intended for format familiarisation and system testing.
