
Release of simulated EPS-SG VII (METimage) test data


EUMETSAT Polar System-Second Generation (EPS-SG) simulated VII (METimage) Level 1B test data available for user familiarisation in February 2020.

The EPS-SG Visible Infrared Imager (METimage) will provide continuity to the AVHRR series on board the Metop and NOAA satellites, and VIIRS on board NOAA satellites.
Test data description
The test data are available here:

The METimage L1B test data, in netCDF format, covers a quarter of an orbit of data and is generated using the L1B Ground Processor Prototype (GPP) V1.2.1. The content and format of these products are in line with the specifications in the VII L1B Product Format Specification document, made available along with the test data.
The test data consist of 6 granules. Each granule has a duration of 5 min, 3144 pixels across track and 4200 pixels along track.
These test data are intended for format familiarisation and system testing.
