Continual torrential rainfall caused severe floods on many parts of Sudan and South Sudan in July and August.

July is the start of the rainy season in Sudan and South Sudan, which always brings heavy rain and some flooding.

This year weeks of extremely heavy rain caused even more severe flooding, which left tens of thousands homeless and at least 39 dead.
