
Severe storms captured by super rapid scan

Convective storms, many severe and causing significant damage in parts of Germany and Switzerland, captured at 2.5-minute intervals by Meteosat-8.

The loop (processed by Zdenek Charvat, CHMI ) shows these storms in a so-called 'sandwich product', blending together the properties as observed in HRV band and color enhanced IR10.8 band.
The 2.5-minute scanning shows big temporal variability of the storm tops, with some of the features being present in one single image only.
