Release of simulated EPS-SG Radio Occultation Level 1B test data

EUMETSAT Polar System-Second Generation (EPS-SG) Radio Occultation (RO) simulated Level 1B test data available for user familiarisation in December 2019.
22 January 2021
12 December 2019
The Radio Occultation (RO) instrument has a direct heritage from GRAS flying on Metop. Its main objective is to support Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) and climate monitoring, by providing measurements of bending angle profiles in the troposphere and the stratosphere with a high vertical resolution and accuracy.

There are 194 output files in this dataset. The file format is netCDF. The information on all the variables in the output files is available in the EPS-SG RO Level 1B Product Format Specification document, made available along with the test data.
The RO L1B product is generated using the EUMETSAT in-house prototype.
These test data are intended for format familiarisation and system testing.
