NOAA has announced that the SNPP and NOAA-20 CrIS Sensor Data Records (SDRs), currently distributed on EUMETCast, will have their version number changed from v2r0 to v3r0.

This change will be reflected in the filenames:

Current filenames

SNPP: W_XX-EUMETSAT-Darmstadt,SOUNDING+SATELLITE,NPP+CrIS_C_EUMP_20170730220607_v2r0_SDR.bin

NOAA-20: W_XX-EUMETSAT-Darmstadt,SOUNDING+SATELLITE,NOAA20+CrIS_C_EUMP_20180508115903_v2r0_SDR.bin

New filenames

SNPP: W_XX-EUMETSAT-Darmstadt,SOUNDING+SATELLITE,NPP+CrIS_C_EUMP_20221117093959_v3r0_SDR.bin

NOAA-20: W_XX-EUMETSAT-Darmstadt,SOUNDING+SATELLITE,NOAA20+CrIS_C_EUMP_20221117093959_v3r0_SDR.bin

This change will also affect the CrIS Sensor Data Records reduced spectral samples distributed on the GTS.

There is no scientific update associated with this version change.

Sample files of CrIS SDRs with the new filename are available on our SFTP server: https://sftp.eumetsat.int/file/d/Public/User-Materials/Test-Data/CrIS_Version_Change/
