About MTG

As the successor of the current Meteosat Second Generation (MSG), MTG will provide observation over the entire African continent on a continuous and frequent basis (every 10 minutes) for the next two decades.

MTG will offer an unprecedented wealth of information. It has the potential to substantially improve safety-critical early warnings and disaster risk reduction in Africa, as well as decisions in vital weather and climate-sensitive sectors of the economy, such as transport (including air traffic management), agriculture, water management, marine and coastal resources, management of natural resources, health, disaster resilience and renewable energy.

MTG presents an opportunity to develop innovative applications and services at regional and national levels in Africa.
