The reprocessing of all Sentinel-3A SRAL data to the latest standards allows the end-users to have a consistent dataset since the beginning of mission to the present date. This was needed since a major product evolution happened in late 2017.

New reprocessed Sentinel-3A SRAL dataset available

The reprocessed dataset is available from the Copernicus Online Data Access (CODA) service for reprocessed data (CODAREP), via this link: https://codarep.eumetsat.int. To access it, use your Earth Observation Portal (EOP) credentials. If you do not have an Earth Observation Portal account, create one and you will be able to access CODA and CODAREP.

To get the complete and consistent dataset users can combine the Reprocessed NTC dataset, which spans from 1 March 2016–20 January 2018 (sensing date), from CODAREP and the NTC dataset, processed with the same baseline after 20 January 2018 (sensing date), from CODA.

Currently the SRAL L2 and L1B reprocessed data are available at CODAREP. However, the other Level 1 user products (L1A and L1B-S) were produced and will be made available shortly.

Product notice for this release

The geophysical verification of the data content was made at Level 2 and the reprocessing dataset is consistent and within the mission requirements for the Open Ocean, for all key parameters (Sea Surface Height, Significant Wave Height and wind speed). The geophysical parameters show good agreements with other altimeters (Jason-3) and also with models.

The reprocessed dataset used Processing Baseline (PB) 2.27, currently data is being generated with PB 2.33 that contains minor updates to PB 2.27, and more information can be found in the PB 2.33 Product Notice.
