GOES-West ABI Level-1B 10-minute data on EUMETCast soon

GOES-West ABI Level-1B 10-minute data will be available on EUMETCast from 1 April.

GOES-West (GOES-17) ABI Level-1B data are currently distributed on EUMETCast Europe every 30 minutes.

From 1 April 2020, the data will also be made available every 10 minutes.

The 10-minute data will be distributed on EUMETCast Europe, High Volume Service Transponder 1 (HVS-1), on the same channel as the 30-minute data:

Channel: E1H-TPG-3
Multicast address: 224.223.223.12
PID: 600

Users wishing to receive the GOES-West ABI Level-1B 10-minute data should register via our Earth Observation Portal (EOP).

Note: The GOES-West ABI instrument will be operated in Mode 3 over several periods each year and this will affect the ABI data distribution. The next such period will be from 9 April to 1 May 2020 —– see GOES-17 ABI Mode 3 Cooling Timeline Implementation.
