EUMETView, a new way to visualise EUMETSAT satellite data.

EUMETView is a visualisation service that allows users to view EUMETSAT imagery in a more interactive way through an online map viewer or Web Map Service (WMS).

Using EUMETView

EUMETView has been designed to be easy to use:

  1. Choose the layer to display from the list.
  2. Select the date and time.
  3. Choose region of interest.
  4. Download selected images.
  5. Animate images if required.

Displaying EUMETView with other WMS data

EUMETView implements the OpenGIS Web Map Service (WMS) Interface Standard and can be used to request and overlay EUMETSAT products in GIS clients supporting OGC WMS 1.3.0.

The OGC WMS 1.3.0 interface is available from: http://eumetview.eumetsat.int/geoserver/wms

For instance, a GetCapabilities request can be called as follow: https://eumetview.eumetsat.int/geoserv/wms?REQUEST=GetCapabilities&version=1.3.0&service=WMS
