New version of CODA released

A new version of the Copernicus Online Data Access (CODA) service has been released today (15 Nov).

Wednesday, 15 November 2017

It is possible to display a thumbnail image (Quick Look) for the OLCI and SLSTR L2 files, which shows a preview of the product.

Note: Generation and ingestion of the OLCI and SLSTR L2 Quick Looks started from 10:00 UTC today, it may take some time before they all appear.

When searching in the CODA database from the GUI Map Tool, the results of the search are displayed as a list of results displaying the quick looks for every file in the list (Figure 1), helping users to quickly choose the files wanted.

To access a single product's Quick Look, click on 'View Products Details' under a file in the list of results — a window will open displaying information about the selected file, e.g. Footprint, Attributes, Inspector, and also a bigger version of the Quick look (Figure 2).

It is also possible to access Quick Looks using CODA APIs with the command line https://coda.eumetsat.int/odata/v1/Products('ID')/Products('Quicklook')/$value
(ID is the universally unique identifier that identifies a product in CODA database, and it can be found in file’s metadata).
