NOAA-20 global data on EUMETCast soon

CrIS and ATMS global data from NOAA-20 will be available on EUMETCast from 28 June.

Thursday, 21 June 2018

CrIS (Cross-track Infrared Sounder) and ATMS (Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder) Sensor Data Records (SDRs) from NOAA-20 will come in addition to the CrIS and ATMS SDRs from SNPP already distributed on EUMETCast.

The NOAA-20 CrIS SDRs will contain the full resolution data, i.e. 2211 channels.

The data will be distributed on EUMETCast Europe, on Transponder 2: Channel E2H-TPL-1 (PID: 610, Multicast address: 224.223.224.2). Please note that the data will be transferred to Transponder 1: from 22/08/2018 to 11/09/2018, when they will be available on both Transponders, and from 12/09/2018 they will only be available on Transponder 1. For more details on the transponder change, see the Technical Bulletin.

Example filenames:

ATMS: W_XX-EUMETSAT-Darmstadt,SOUNDING+SATELLITE,N20+ATMS_C_EUMP_20180225221829_v1r0_SDR.bin

Users currently subscribed to SNPP ATMS and CrIS data can receive the NOAA-20 ATMS and CrIS data without additional subscription. However, their EUMETCast system needs to be configured to receive data from Transponder 2 for the period up to 22/08/2018. Other users wishing to receive these data should register via our Earth Observation Portal (EOP).
