A Meteosat-11 SEVIRI decontamination will be performed from 21 to 28 January 2019.
Thursday, 13 December 2018
During the decontamination period, no Meteosat-11 data will be available. Meteosat-9 Full Earth Scan data (rectified to 0°) will be disseminated instead, and also one week before and one week after Meteosat-11 decontamination, i.e. from 14/01 to 04/02/2019.
The parallel data dissemination from the non-prime service will be on EUMETSAT Data Channel 15 (PID: 500, Multicast address: 126.96.36.199). The parallel data will have ‘_PAR’ included in their filenames.
The planned timeline is as follows:
- 14/01 09:00 UTC to 21/01 09:00 UTC: Met-11 prime, with both Met-9 and Met-11 image data and Meteorological products disseminated in parallel. Met-9 data, rectified to 0°, will be distributed on EUMETSAT Data Channel 15, with filenames like:
- 21/01 09:00 UTC to 28/01 09:00 UTC: Met-9 prime. Met-9 image data and Meteorological products (rectified to 0°) disseminated. Met-11 in decontamination with no data dissemination.
- 28/01 09:00 UTC to 04/02 09:00 UTC: Met-9 prime (still), with both Met-9 and Met-11 image data and Meteorological products disseminated in parallel. Met-9 data rectified to 0°. Met-11 data will be distributed on EUMETSAT Data Channel 15, with filenames like:
- 04/02 09:00 UTC: Met-11 prime. Met-9 data dissemination stops.
Users wishing to receive the parallel Meteosat data streams should register with User Service Helpdesk.
NOTE 1: During the period 14/01/19 09:00 UTC to 04/02/19 09:00 UTC, there will be no back-up to Meteosat-10 Rapid Scan Service, as Meteosat-9 will be tasked with the Full Earth Scan service.
NOTE 2: From 21/01/19 09:00 UTC to 28/01/19 09:00 UTC, Meteosat-10 will be the back-up spacecraft to Meteosat-9 for the Full Earth Scan service.
