The products to be changed are OMPS Total Column Ozone, OMPS Ozone Nadir Profile and VIIRS Aerosol Optical Thickness, which are distributed on EUMETCast as part of the Copernicus Third Party Data Service.
Thursday, 28 March 2019
NOAA is terminating the generation of EDRs (Environmental Data Records) on their IDPS (Interface Data Processing Segment) environment at the end of April 2019. This affects three EDRs that are distributed on EUMETCast Europe as part of the Copernicus Third Party Data Service:
- OMPS Total Column Ozone (TC)
- OMPS Ozone Nadir Profile (NP)
- VIIRS Aerosol Optical Thickness (AOT)
NOAA will replace these products by similar products from their NDE (NPP Data Exploitation) environment: Version 8 OMPS products for both the OMPS TC and NP, and the JRR-AOD product for the VIIRS AOT.
Details on these products can be found in the corresponding Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents (ATBDs):
More information is also available on the STAR JPSS website.
EUMETSAT will replace the old products with the new ones on 16 April. The new products will be distributed on the same EUMETCast Europe channel as the old products:
Multicast address: 220.127.116.11
In the meantime, sample files of the new products are available on our FTP server:
