Inclusion of Metop-C data in the EARS-IASI Level 1 service

Metop-C data will be added to the regional EARS-IASI Level 1 service from 25 September.

Thursday, 19 September 2019

The Metop-C IASI Level 1 data have operational status. They will be added to the regional EARS-IASI L1 service, which comprises 500 selected channels and Principal Component Scores.

The data are currently generated at the Athens, Kangerlussuaq, Lannion, Maspalomas and Svalbard stations.

Note: A geolocation discrepancy (of around 9 km) between the global and regional IASI L1 products, affecting the Svalbard station, has been observed. It is located right at the edge of the scan, on the scan position 30. This issue is currently being investigated.

The data will be distributed on EUMETCast Europe, Basic Service, using the following channel:

EUMETSAT Data Channel 1
Multicast address: 224.223.222.1
