Change of EUMETCast channels for SNPP CrIS and ATMS data

The EUMETCast channels on which SNPP CrIS and ATMS data are distributed will change on 15 April.

The SNPP CrIS and ATMS Sensor Data Records (SDRs), both the global and regional data, are currently distributed on EUMETCast Europe Basic Service.

We plan to transfer them to the High Volume Service, Transponder 1 (HVS-1), as follows:

  1. From 26/03/2020, the data will start being distributed on HVS-1
  2. The data will be available in parallel on both the Basic Service and the HVS-1 for 3 weeks, until 15/04/2020, to facilitate user transition
  3. After 15/04/2020, the data will only be available on HVS-1.

Information on current EUMETCast channels and new EUMETCast channels is provided in the table below.

Users currently subscribed to the above data will be given automatic access to the data streams on HVS-1.

Instructions on how to configure the new channels

To receive the SNPP CrIS and ATMS global and regional data on dedicated target directories, users need to edit cast_client-channels_hvs-1.ini and add the following 2 new sections for E1H-TPL-1 and E1H-RDS-1 (if not already configured):

Otherwise the data will be received under the target directory of the default channel (name=*) if it is defined.
