New Sentinel-3 SLSTR Near Real Time fire product released soon

The Copernicus Sentinel-3 Near Real Time (NRT) Fire Radiative Power (FRP) product will be released on 21 April.

The Sentinel-3 Near Real Time (NRT) Fire Radiative Power (FRP) product is dedicated to radiant heating and threat monitoring of fires, gas flares, and volcanoes.

The FRP product is available:

This product is implemented by EUMETSAT based on the FRP IPF processor v2.0, and is particularly relevant by night, and sometimes by day, for all hot land and ocean spots emitting radiation from MWIR (3.7 µm) and SWIR (1.6 and 2.25 µm).

Validation, maintenance, and evolution of the product are under EUMETSAT responsibility. As part of these activities, carried out in collaboration with our partners, feedback from users will be welcomed, via our User Service Helpdesk.

In parallel to these NRT products, other data may be valuable for the evaluation activity, such as the reprocessing backward up to 1 December 2019 using the same FRP Baseline Collection 1 Processor v2.0, or other configurations of the FRP retrieval. Access to these data can be provided upon request to the User Service Helpdesk.
