NOAA-20 OMPS Ozone Nadir Profile product on EUMETCast soon

NOAA-20 OMPS Ozone Nadir Profile EDRs will be available on EUMETCast from 9 June.

A number of SNPP and NOAA-20 Environmental Data Records (EDRs) from NOAA are currently distributed on EUMETCast in the frame of Copernicus. These include the OMPS Total Column Ozone EDRs from both satellites and the OMPS Ozone Nadir Profile EDRs from SNPP.

The service will be extended from 9 June to also include the OMPS Ozone Nadir Profile EDRs from the NOAA-20 satellite.

OMPS is a three-part instrument that measures global ozone. The Nadir Mapper maps ozone with an approximate 50-km ground resolution. The Nadir Profiler measures the vertical distribution of ozone in the stratosphere. The Limb Profiler measures ozone in the lower stratosphere and troposphere with high vertical resolution. The Ozone Nadir Profile is an EDR created from measurements made by the OMPS Nadir Profiler and the OMPS Nadir Mapper sensors. The OMPS products provide global daily monitoring of the three dimensional distribution of ozone and other atmospheric constituents.

Users already subscribed to ‘Copernicus Third-Party’ > ‘NOAA-20 Atmospheric Products’ will receive the NOAA-20 OMPS Ozone Nadir Profile EDR automatically. Other users wishing to receive this product should register via our Earth Observation Portal (EOP).
