Although some clouds are casting shadows on the ground, the smoke from the wilds fires in New South Wales (Australia) is clearly visible on this image from Metop-A. Two bluish plumes north and north-west of Sydney can be seen near burn scars (red arrows). Swaths of smoke also trail over the coastal waters.
