EUMETSAT promotes international cooperation
BOSTON - As forecasting of high impact weather needs to meet higher expectations in our changing climate, EUMETSAT promotes international cooperation under the aegis of the WMO and is preparing to deploy one next-generation satellite per year in the period 2021-2025.

From 2 – 6 October, the EUMETSAT user conference jointly organised with ITAF-MET (Italian Air Force - Operational Force Command, Department for Meteorology), the national provider for weather and climate services in Italy, will attract a record number of 500 meteorologists and scientists from 40 countries to Rome.

Under the motto “Explore an ocean of data without getting your feet wet” a three-day Dataviz Hackathon coding event launches at EUMETSAT’s headquarters tonight. Computer programmers, software developers, data experts and data miners together with marine scientists and engineers from EUMETSAT and Plymouth Marine Laboratory will use Copernicus marine data to develop a range of innovative applications.

EUMETSAT celebrates its 30th Anniversary
EUMETSAT, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites, will celebrate its 30th anniversary on 27 June, with the participation of high level officials from its 30 Member States and the World Meteorological Organisation, the European Union, the European Space Agency and other international partners.
