Typhoon Man-yi passed over the Philippines bringing heavy rain, strong winds (up to 185 kmh) and tidal surges. The storm caused extensive flooding and landslides and uprooted many trees and damaged homes and power lines, leaving hundreds of cities without electricity.

The typhoon is the sixth major storm to hit the Philippines in less than a month. 

The extensive ash cloud from the volcanic eruption led to several international airlines cancelling flights to the nearby island of Bali, leaving people stuck at the airport. 

Mount Lewotobi has two peaks (Lewotobi Laki-Laki and Lewotobi Perempuan) and has been active since December 2023. Laki-Laki means man and Perempuan means woman. The volcano is one of 120 active volcanoes in Indonesia.
