EUMETSAT provides access to the Copernicus Sentinel-3 and Copernicus Sentinel-6 marine products - and, in future, products from Sentinel-4 and Sentinel-5 - via EUMETCast satellite/terrestrial or through the EUMETSAT Data Centre.

EOP

The Earth Observation Portal is the main entry point to EUMETSAT’s Earth Observation data, including data provided via EUMETCast from our many partner organisations. Register and subscribe here to receive data.

product navigator

The Product Navigator is the central catalogue for all EUMETSAT data and products, including third-party product disseminated on EUMETCast.  To discover our data go to the Product Navigator.

EUMETCast

EUMETCast is EUMETSAT’s primary dissemination mechanism, providing access to near real-time data through DVB satellite or terrestrial network, with a guaranteed service level.

eumetview

EUMETView is a new web imagery service based upon Web Map Service (WMS) technology which allows users to view EUMETSAT data and products and to access image layers. EUMETView will be enhanced in 2016 with imagery from Sentinel-3 marine data and products.

Why use EUMETCAST?

EUMETSAT offers users and service providers access to a multi-mission data stream via EUMETCast, a highly-reliable, cost-effective system based on off-the-shelf, commercially available, standard Digital Video Broadcast technology.

EUMETCast’s highly scalable architecture will provide the near real-time Sentinel-3 data services to an unlimited number of simultaneous users, regardless of the possible limitations of local communication infrastructures.

EUMETCast Satellite Users worldwide

"EUMETCast delivers the majority of the satellite observations operationally assimilated at ECMWF. It provides a very reliable, cost-effective and easy to use mechanism for the near real time delivery of more than 50 gigabytes of satellite data every day. It is an essential component of ECMWF's data reception system"

David Richardson, ECMWF Head of Evaluation Section

EUMETCast Terrestrial works like the satellite service but uses a terrestrial network instead. The DVB satellite link is replaced by a connection to a national research network. EUMETCast Terrestrial has the potential to reach users beyond the EUMETCast satellite footprint, for example, in Australia.

Working with Sentinel 3 data

The Sentinel-3 Toolbox consists of a rich set of visualisation, analysis and processing tools for the exploitation of OLCI and SLSTR data from the Sentinel-3 mission.

International Copernicus data exchange

EUMETSAT has signed Technical Operating Arrangements with the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration  (NOAA) and Geoscience Australia  to support the exchange of Copernicus data.
