A critical element of polar-orbiting meteorological satellite Metop-C’s payload – the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) – delivered its first spectrum today.

Europe’s most modern satellite control centre has been unveiled at the Darmstadt headquarters of EUMETSAT, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites.

As of today, EUMETSAT has responsibility for the full dual spacecraft operations of Sentinel-3A and 3B and the marine data production. In the coming few weeks, the team will complete those commissioning activities which could only be performed in the nominal orbital configuration and will ramp up the product releases.
