The Copernicus Programme provides users with free, full and open access to environmental data.
The EUMETSAT Data Policy is a document that has been established and approved by EUMETSAT Member States.
EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International and the EEA have developed the WEKEO data information and access service (DIAS) to provide fast and easy access to Copernicus data and products.
EUMETSAT supports the development of operational oceanography through the delivery of ocean data.
The EUMETSAT & Partners DIAS will be one of the functional elements of the Copernicus Integrated Ground Segment (IGS)
EUMETSAT’s vision is to be the leading user-driven operational agency in Europe for Earth observation satellite programmes that fulfil the objectives of its Convention.

The Central Facility is responsible for the generation of level 1 data and level 2 products.
EUMETSAT is actively involved in two major projects which aim to strengthen cooperation on Earth observation between Europe and Africa and improve access to climate data in Africa.
Currently being developed for the specific needs of the Copernicus programme,
EUMETSAT is a user-governed operational organisation formed in 1986, which serves the needs of its member states.
