Studying the optical missions METimage and 3MI and the generation of appropriate test data.
19 November 2018
The first science data from the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit (AMSU-A) on board Metop-C has been received
How to extend the currently existing single scattering properties databases for frozen hydrometeors.
The level 1C algorithm will produce a geo-projected and re-gridded 3MI product.
Detailed instrument spectral response data for the GOME-2 flight model to be used in level-1b to level-2 processing.
Study implements the latest evolution of the Piece-Wise Linear (PWLR) Algorithm for IASI.
This study provided support for the definition of an algorithm baseline for 3MI.
Establishing the basis of an operational algorithm for the retrieval of CTP from the METimage imager Oxygen A-band channels.
Providing support to the development of cloud property retrieval algorithms from the 3MI instrument on EPS-SG.
Advancing the understanding of C-band scatterometer retrievals in cases of high and extreme winds.
Validation of ASCAT measurements over cold target regions.
13 December 2018
A critical element of polar-orbiting meteorological satellite Metop-C’s payload – the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) – delivered its first spectrum today.
12 November 2018
After three days of intensive testing by the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), EUMETSAT has taken over control of its newest polar-orbiting meteorological satellite, Metop-C, and started flight operations of a constellation of three Metop satellites.
4 July 2018
Metop-C, the third and final satellite in a series that has made an unparalleled impact on weather forecast accuracy, has arrived in Kourou, French Guiana, to be prepared for launch.
7 November 2018
At 01:47 CET (21:47 Kourou time), EUMETSAT’s polar-orbiting meteorological satellite Metop-C was successfully launched on a Soyuz ST-B rocket from the European Space Port in Kourou, French Guiana.
Validating spectral band adjustment factors using lunar hyperspectral measurements.
